''Another Source'' 2008
Acrylic on Board
180cm by 110cm

the latest of my current series... this one is the tallest i have ever worked. so much so, the lower refelction half was painted upside down, as i could not bare to paint all day long on my hands and knees. so i painted it upside down and stood on some ladders instead.

time taken is a month almost exactly...

see what you think, and drop me a comment with some crit... thanks...

Again!

A mindblowingly realistic painting but such an ugly subject lol! :)

Why did you choose to paint some ugly food packet? :)

This can't be done by human, you must be God. It's more real than a photo.

Well Tom, as in all your work, you continue rising to newer and higher levels of competencies and uniquely identifiable aesthetic values, cheers mate!

Hey Tom I can see how this new food series could potentially appeal to a broader audience than the weights, although I still lean toward them maybe because I saw them close up, or perhaps just due to their raw paint energy, the way they would scream "look at this, look at the paint, can you believe it, and pumping iron weights no less! cool, huh?" and these appear more deliberate, whispering "psst, hey you, yeah you over there staring at the Campos piece...take a look at this bag of food, its actually a painting but you would never have any way of knowing that it wasn't a huge photo by looking at it as it is so damn well done!"

And byt he way, this would have made for an intriguing above and below diptych... and that way you could have sold this monster size work as two paintings without having to paint on your knees!! :slow:

Well, food for thought anyway... cheers and beers

haha.. cheers denis... i think they have wider appeal to be fair, however that was not my reasoning for the change in subject, a personal development it was, it is to me the same series kind of, just the second part of it....

i am enjoying painting the curent work, love doing lettering and text and glossy packaging, but also the contents too.. i have just started another one today, but am contemplating further down the line, doing a plate of food... a meal itself as it were...

good idea bout the dyptich... haha...

thanks as always for the comment denis.. cheers to you.
