Artist's Comments

medium: acrylic on board.
size: 27 by 45 inches.

this is a revisitation of a painting i did a year ago almost exactly called short bar...[link]
this is the image i nearly painted back then.

i wanted to do a relatively quick painting, so i could gain better understanding of how long work is guna take me...this took 2 weeks pretty much..

i am please with the outcome of the painting itself, when seen in reality it has a much better finish to it and hyperreality than the short bar piece. so its pleasing that my technique has progressed...

it currently has a satin finish, but i will apply more of a gloss final finish which will bring out the darks even more.

anyways, enough waffle, hope you enjoy.

the detail is as the rest of your gallery....remarkable.

the little scratches and dents make it look very real. Im holding the exact same bar up at the screen and my god man, how on earth did ya do it.

Take care, SB :ahoy:

Amazing work of realism as always. For being so young to achieve such skill will get you very far in life. This is motivation to never stop improving, because even a painter like you who paints seemingly without flaws views the progression in the work.

lol... its cool that you have the same equipment... haha.. yeh i paint every blemish, it only adds to realisty itself... how did i do it, i dont know, i just paint it , over and over until its correct or as i want it to be... theres no secret to it really just perseveerence. cheers.

yeh i mean i can see improvement since the last one i did a year ago... and although you might ask why i have painted more o less the same image twice, they are actually very different paintings in the flesh... this one is on board for a start.. i think you make a very good point here, i keep pushing myself , and constantly developing my technique. i genuinely have a desire to be the best that i can be. other artists push my work, i bounce off inspiration. you show me something which is unbelieveably real,so good that people despute that it is infact a painting, all that makes me do is try to paint as good as that.. even is what i am trying to do is impossible, because i believe its possible...

thanks, you made me think here with your comment. most of it was waffle to myself.. cheers.
