Three Glasses 2008
Size: 45 by 60 inches
Medium: Acrylic paint on canvas

As per my usual, i struggled to get a good shot of my new painting. any strange marks , are reflections in the varnish, not the painting..

here it is anyways, almost 5 weeks worth of work. I am generally quite pleased with the outcome, its the biggest ive done so far, so its size makes quite an impact.

enjoy.

thank you very much

nice job of those reflections especially the glass in focus, the base of it works very well.

the image almost takes on a monochromatic feel.

do you use photoshop to adjust things in your final pictures? obvious you crop them, I always have to, just to try and get the photograph to resemble the final painting. I usually crop, adjust contrast / brightness, colour ballance as they usually too blue or to orange !! also sometimes the levels.

great work as usual

yeh, i dont think any1 can photograph art work properly.. its very annoying. i have just been taking some more pics now, its perfect conditions... so hope they come out a bit better, and i will repost the image if so...

yeh i have to use the skew tool to make them sqaure, then i crop them and play with the levels a bit etc.. ive started taking pictures in raw format for maximum adjustment.

cheers dude.

re posted the image.. better colours, but strange marks on the surface of the painting now.. i give up..
:iconsimzzzz:
raw very good but for publishing like the exactitude book the designers asked me for TIFF, as high res as you can possible get it. my camera on its highest TIFF setting, the file size is between 25-30MB so cant email them have to post on disc.

have you purchased any of those CMYK colour charts that maggie was on about for photography ? i still got to do that

off down to London now so laterzzzzzz
:iconhyper-tom:
no i have not, i keep forgetting to do. they would be usefull...

yeh i work in raw because you can adjust things like exposure etc... then i turn it into a tiff.. yeh i asked anne this, she said just for me to send a high res between 2-3mb to her.thats just possible by email.. so i do in jpeg format..

i will prob have to resend them at some point anyway when they need them 4 the catalogue.. 25-30mb is one hell of a file!

cheers fella, have a good day.
