Three Glasses 2008
Size: 45 by 60 inches
Medium: Acrylic paint on canvas

As per my usual, i struggled to get a good shot of my new painting. any strange marks , are reflections in the varnish, not the painting..

here it is anyways, almost 5 weeks worth of work. I am generally quite pleased with the outcome, its the biggest ive done so far, so its size makes quite an impact.

enjoy.

Three Glasses by *hyper-tom offers up a genuinely hearty sampling of what level of realism could be achieved through mortal craftsmanship; In acrylics too, no less, where achievement in depth and lighting effects come furthermore commendable. ( Suggested by Krissi001 and Featured by snowmask )

i keep thinking if I look a little closer, it'll look more like a painting. It's just too perfect.

Stunning work! I have only just started using acrylic( I am more of a watercolour and colored pencil person) and have no idea how you can create such realistic paintings with acrylics!.faint: Thanks for the WIP though...always helps to get a glimpse of some of the stages....

Hi Tom,
I'm not a painter and still I am impressed by your talent, and your work is exceptional.
This is the first piece here where there's no much colors, only black and white are predominant, and still so many possibilities and different effects. I have a naive question. All my apologies if I'm not really into painting. After this work here, did you have the thought of trying to make another painting using only black and white?
Keep going the good work!
Karine.

thanks very much.. this painting was in full colour, but appears at a glance to only contain blacks and whites..

This is so amazing that it hurts....! I'm just curious though, but how did you paint this? I mean, did you paint the background first or did you start with the glasses or...?

I am completely overwhelmed by this piece. It is beyond the definition of perfection and crosses into a new level of mastery, it''s just not possible to capture in one's mind the amount of delicious excellence this piece offers ti the ocular pallet. I am sure there is even more we cannot appreciate by just looking at this through a screen. It is a remarkable and utterly breathtaking... THING.

Let me tell you this, no lens could ever hope to capture what you have portrayed here.

damn - i can't even think of all the work, üassion and hours you spend to finish this art.
if you wouldn't note this is a drawing/painting i would be one of 1000 who think this is a picture or rendering.

you did a brilliant job!
