Tom Martin 'Trisection' 2012 Acrylic on aluminium composite panel. 165cm x 95cm.
Just finnished this one. Following on from recent themes this painting explores ideas of femininity, symbolism and innocence to name but a few.
As with the past couple of works, I have incorporated a background colour made optically from the dot patterns I'm now working with. For this particular combination I only used Magenta and yellow dots.
Love this work. Please explain more about the "dot pattern" in the background. Did you use a stencil or some form of mechanical application/ transfer technique? I would find it impossible to imagine applying every dot one at a time. I believe it would drive me quite nearly insane.
i don't know how you do this, but this one is nothing other than simply another stunner. and thanks for another refutation of the claim that (hyper-)realism were 'superficial' (or some such bullshit).
thanks
