TOM MARTIN
'typical composition'. acrylic on canvas. size 36 by 60 inches. This is the most recent painting of my current series. It is the largest yet and in my opinion is the most successful yet. the overall surface is smoother than any I have previously done. I am hoping to put this in the summer show at plus 1. as usual so much is lost through the image of this, so i may take some close up pics soon and post them. Daily DeviationGiven 2008-05-16An extraordinary hyperrealist piece, typical composition by ~hyper-tom includes highly challenging surfaces (metal, glass and packaging) in an absolutely masterful way, composing the image on terms of depth-of-field and focus/off focus areas to create this impressive painting. i like the way the viewer is drawn around the painting and forced to focus on the different elements and their fluctuating focal points.
the subtle reflection in the floor contrasts well against the more defined reflections of the glass and the metal, and the way the glass refracts the light to create abstractions in the glass is superb, especially around where the glass and the metal combine and merge.
what is the lettering done in ? thats impressive Tom
I think at an early stage of your career you have already came up with signature paintings that are instantly recognisable as a Tom Martin
