TOM MARTIN

'typical composition'. acrylic on canvas. size 36 by 60 inches.

This is the most recent painting of my current series. It is the largest yet and in my opinion is the most successful yet. the overall surface is smoother than any I have previously done.

I am hoping to put this in the summer show at plus 1.

as usual so much is lost through the image of this, so i may take some close up pics soon and post them.

An extraordinary hyperrealist piece, typical composition by ~hyper-tom includes highly challenging surfaces (metal, glass and packaging) in an absolutely masterful way, composing the image on terms of depth-of-field and focus/off focus areas to create this impressive painting. Было бы здорово сделать что-нибудь подобное, не используя фотографию. Классная работа, как раз то, что я люблю в абстракционизме: внутренняя пластика произведения впечатляет, вызывает определённую эмоцию. It would be nice to make something like this WITHOUT using photograph at all, isn't it? ;) Great piece, exactly what I like in abstract art. Quite impressive... Particular graphical pattern, and articulation of the pattern gives an emotion.

The glass looks a little wonky at the top, just a tiny bit, maybe it's just my glasses :o/ the reflection through.

But it looks so real...amazing work, seriously dude, they all look like photos haha

I think the reason the glass looks "wonky" is just because of an illusion created by the reflections and lines of the label behind it. It does make a straight line all the way up the left side of the glass though! =P

Also, this is a truly extraordinary piece. The kicker for me is the small piece of metal sticking out on the far left side -- it just looks so epicly perfect. Anyway, I have a lot of respect for the time and patience you put into this (I've tried myself so I can at least somewhat understand how it can be!), and I'm really glad you're being recognized for you work =)

I love this piece! - the body of the glass has been recreated perfectly, and I love the way you've managed to nail the blurred foreground and reflections of what appears to be a perspex/white glass tabletop.

Beautiful.

This is so realistic. But if this was a photograph, the camera must've went out of focus, the sharpest object is that screw on the extreme right.lol

its made up of 4 images which i arranged into one.. yes it has a shallow depth of field this is intentional to draw the viewer in..

Ok, I know lots of people have already said the same to you but YOU'RE TRULY AWESOME! This is what describes real art instead of that abstract thingie.. Seems like I can even touch the glass! I love how you take out of focus some sections in order to achieve depth. And let me say another thing (and then I stop bothering you) you deserve millions of more favs as some people which obviouly are less talented have more than you.. NO WAY!

you're really inspiring
